January 10, 2012 Plaza Las Américas to Feature Tensile Roofing From Birdair, Inc. – PTFE to provide Functional and Aesthetic Benefits for Mexico Shopping Center
"Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures of all sizes throughout the world, will serve as roofing subcontractor for the addition of a tensile structure to Plaza Las Américas, a shopping mall in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. Birdair will design and fabricate the shopping facility's tensile roofing system comprised of 12,700 square-feet of PTFE, a Teflon®-coated woven fiberglass membrane. December 21, 2011 Fonte Nova Stadium to Feature Tensile Roofing From Birdair, Inc. – Salvador, Brazil Venue to Host 2014 World Cup Matches
"Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures of all sizes, through its subsidiary Taiyo Birdair do Brasil (TBB), Ltda. of São Paulo, Brazil has been awarded a subcontract for the roof construction of Fonte Nova Stadium in Salvador, Brazil. Fonte Nova Stadium will be one of the host venues for the 2014 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup. Birdair's project role consists of detailing, fabricating and supplying PTFE, a Teflon®-coated woven fiberglass membrane that will make up the facility's tensile roofing system. October 18, 2011 Birdair, Inc. Awarded Empire City Casino Contract – Yonkers Attraction to Feature ETFE Porte-Cochere
"Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures of all sizes throughout the world, has been awarded the contract to provide a pneumatic roofing system for a newly constructed porte-cochere at the Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway in Yonkers, New York. Birdair has been awarded a design-build contract for an approximately 11,000 square foot casino porte-cochere. The material selected for the drop-off canopy is ETFE, or ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, a transparent film that is lightweight, flexible and sustainable. August 30, 2011 Birdair Awarded Staten Island Children's Museum Contract – Museum to Feature PTFE and Thin-Film Photovoltaic Panels on Meadow Structure
"Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of tensile structures of all sizes throughout the world, has been awarded the design-build contract for the cable and fabric roofing system of a 2,200 square-foot freestanding tensile structure at the Staten Island Children's Museum in Staten Island, NY. The new addition, called the Meadow Structure, features a translucent, photovoltaic fabric roof that collects solar energy to power low voltage lighting. Birdair has been hired to design and fabricate a 3,000 square-foot tensile roof featuring Birdair's steel cable systems and PTFE, a Teflon®-coated woven fiberglass membrane. August 2, 2011 The Minneapolis Metrodome Sports a New Roof From Birdair, Inc. – Roof Replacement Completed in Five Months in Time for NFL Preseason Football
"Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world, has completed the roof replacement for the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, MN. Birdair served as roofing subcontractor for the facility, fabricating and installing a new roof on an aggressive five-month timeline after a snow and ice storm caused the facility's previous roof to deflate in December 2010. The company installed the Metrodome's original roof in 1982 and replaced the structure's 10-acre roof with more than 700,000 square feet of PTFE fiberglass outer and liner membrane material. "Eight canopy bus shelters designed, fabricated and installed by Birdair, Inc. are a prominent part of the First Street Transit Gallery in Long Beach, California. The newly designed shelters feature approximately 6,440 square feet of PTFE fiberglass membrane. "Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston, WV, which features three fiberglass fabric membrane roof and façade cladding systems from Birdair, Inc., has received an Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture from the West Virginia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). As the project's design-build roofing subcontractor, Birdair constructed the TiO2-coated PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene or Teflon®) fabric membrane canopies. March 29, 2011 La Plata Stadium Features Tensile Fabric Roofing System From Birdair, Inc. – Argentina Venue is the First PTFE-Covered Stadium in South America
"Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world, has completed the tensile roofing system for La Plata Stadium in La Plata, Argentina. Birdair engineered, fabricated and oversaw the installation of the cable structure and fabric roof for the South American stadium. Birdair served as roofing subcontractor for the 53,000-seat capacity stadium, which features 312,545 square feet of tensile roof utilizing Birdair's steel cable systems and PTFE, a Teflon®-coated woven fiberglass membrane. The fabric is capable of withstanding temperatures from minus 100° F to 450° F. It is also immune to UV rays, waterproof, and flame resistant. "Over 80,000 visitors are expected to attend the biggest football game of the year at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which features a tensioned membrane retractable roofing system from Birdair, Inc. Birdair served as the roofing subcontractor for the project, supplying and installing the structure's PTFE Teflon coated fiberglass membrane retractable roofing panels. Completed in 2009, the three-million-square-foot venue set a precedent in architectural design and construction.
