Project Gallery / Georgia Dome

The Georgia Dome is not only the home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, but is also the annual host of the South Eastern Conference (SEC) Football Championship Game and the Chick-fil-A Bowl. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, the Georgia Dome also hosted the basketball, team handball, and gymnastics events and both Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXXIV were played here.

With a seating capacity of up to 75,000 the Georgia Dome sits on 9.19 acres of land and is the largest indoor sporting facility in the US. It also has the largest cable-supported dome in the world. The height of the entire structure is 270 feet and the roof is made of 445,365 square feet of Teflon-coated fiberglass fabric. 8, 300 tons of reinforced steel make up the cables that support the fabric membrane.
