Project Gallery / Shanghai International Circuit

Also called Shanghai Formula One Racetrack, the Shanghai International Circuit is actually built on an area of land that was formerly a swampland. Over 3,000 engineers worked over the span of 18 months to complete the project from start to finish.

Shanghai International Circuit can hold around 200,000 spectators and, like other Formula One circuits, features a long back straight followed by a hairpin turn, a signature characteristic of designer Hermann Tilke. The circuit is 3.387 miles long and features 16 corners – nine right-handers and seven left-handers.
