Birdair Revitalizes Grand Traverse Resort with Durable Teflon-Coated Fiberglass Membrane, Replacing Original Fabric Structure
Birdair Replaces Iconic Pavilion Roof at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa with High-Performance PTFE-Coated Fiberglass Membrane.
Birdair, a global leader in tensile architecture, has completed the successful replacement of the iconic Pavilion roof at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme, Michigan. The original 6,000 sq.ft. tensile membrane structure built by Birdair in 1978, a recognizable yellow canopy that has served as a central venue for weddings, receptions, and corporate events for decades, has been upgraded with a state-of-the-art PTFE-coated fiberglass membrane roof.
The membrane Pavilion structure continues to serve as one of the resort’s most sought-after venues, accommodating up to 650 guests for receptions and special events. The new tensile PTFE membrane roof not only maintains the structure’s iconic silhouette, but also supports the resort’s commitment to guest comfort and sustainability.
