Architectural Elegance Takes Flight with New Birdair PTFE Canopies at Rochester Airport
Birdair expanded the tensile architecture theme at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport with the design and construction of two additional PTFE-coated fiberglass membrane walkway canopies. These wave-like structures add approximately 3,000 square feet of covered space, extending the airport’s existing tensile architecture theme. Featuring vibrant blue painted steel framing with perimeter snow break details and durable white translucent PTFE membrane, the canopies deliver both striking visual impact and reliable weather protection. The design enhances the airport’s architectural identity while ensuring a more comfortable, sheltered experience for travelers—rain or shine.
