Imagine Clearwater Amphitheater

Birdair was recently awarded the design-build contract for a new 4,000-seat covered outdoor amphitheater as part of a 22 acre $64.5 million waterfront transformation and revitalization in the City of Clearwater. The new entertainment venue will feature a floating-like free span tensile membrane roofing system. The 48,500 square foot tensioned membrane roof will include a combination of Tensotherm™, a translucent acoustical tensile fabric roofing material and single layer PTFE-coated fiberglass membrane. In addition to the bandshell structure, Birdair will be constructing 16 Quasar Modular shade canopies throughout the park. Birdair's scope includes design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of the main structural steel, fabric roof, cables, catwalks, and attachment hardware.

Designed to connect the waterfront and the Downtown Clearwater community, Imagine Clearwater includes an expansive park and recreational spaces, a gateway plaza and bluff walk that connects the park to downtown, a bay walk promenade overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, and a lake area with picnic shelters.
