An Iconic Birdair Welcome Shaped by History, Innovation, and Light with a Striking Tensile Structure
Guests arriving at the National Cowboy Museum are now welcomed beneath a revitalized entrance canopy that was originally designed by Fentress Bradburn and built in the early 90’s featuring silicon-coated fiberglass membrane. Birdair just recently in early 2026 upgraded the 8,100 sq.ft. tensile structure with a new PTFE-Coated fiberglass membrane with self-cleaning properties, enhancing both the architectural character and long-term performance of this iconic museum entrance. The canopy’s six white-painted structural steel masts create a dramatic series of cones along the Oklahoma skyline, framed with tensioned catenary cables and aluminum straps that define its sleek perimeter edges
