Birdair Launches 2025 Architectural Icons Tour

Road tour will visit over 200 Birdair structures across the U.S. over next 12-18 months

Birdair, Inc., the world’s leading specialty contractor for custom tensile membrane structures for nearly 70 years, has launched the 2025 Architectural Icons Tour, a road tour that will visit over 200 Birdair structures across the U.S. over the next 12-18 months. The tour hopes to inspire and educate the architectural community by showcasing groundbreaking innovations in tensile architectural design from projects across the country.

The tour is also expected to generate excitement about architecture overall by featuring a variety of iconic structures as well as signature projects that have been constructed using traditional building materials, said Michele Roth, Business Development Manager and Director of Marketing, Birdair. In addition, the tour will celebrate Birdair’s upcoming 70th anniversary in 2026 as well as the 100+ years of operation and global presence of Birdair’s parent company, Taiyo Kogyo Corporation.

“Birdair’s Architectural Icons Tour underscores the company’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of design while building strong relationships with the architectural and construction communities,” Roth said. “By visiting these iconic projects, we aim to highlight the creative and technical expertise that defines tensile architecture and inspire the next generation of architectural leaders.”

The tour will kick off in July in the Northeast region, featuring key Birdair projects such as the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, N.Y., The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y., and Domino Square Park in Brooklyn. At each stop, Birdair will share rich, engaging content – from video interviews with industry leaders to project profiles with design and engineering insights.

A full-service design-build specialty contractor for tensile architecture, Birdair offers a comprehensive range of pre-construction services including design assistance, budgeting, construction methodologies and project schedule development. Birdair’s in-house capabilities include design development, engineering, fabrication, construction (installation) and service and warranty services.
